From Electronic Living Wills to High-Tech Bicycle Locks: Start of the 4th SpinLab Class For the last year and a half, SpinLab - The HHL Accelerator provided 18 startups with the necessary business coaching, networking, resources, and even co-working areas to help them launch their ideas. From the 18, 15 of those companies are still active, and according to SpinLab's Founder, Dr. Eric Weber, those companies now total at over 70 employees, and have acquired 5,4 Million Euros in capital. In addition to growth and company size, some companies have even attained high profile customers such as Porsche or DELL. F ollowing these successes, the accelerator from HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management welcomes their fourth class, consisting of six new startups. The young company founders from Augsburg, Berlin, Halle, Hof, and Leipzig join the six-month program in the internationally renowned Leipzig Spinnerei bringing a wide array of different business models ranging from electronic living wills, bicycle locks made of high-tech textiles, or even wallets that can charge your mobile phone on the go. The new SpinLab startups are excited to each start with their 6,000 Euros budget that is awarded from the city of Leipzig.

DIPAT - Die Patientenverfügung. DIPAT is the inventor of effective online living wills and adjoining documents. The self-developed algorithm for automated medical consultation provides a solution to the problem, that 90% of all living wills in Germany are medically ineffective, due to their lack of precision and physical unavailability in an emergency. http://www.dip at.de

As with every previous six-month accelerator program, the startups will conduct their demo day in January 2017 with investors from all over Germany in the city of Leipzig.

SpinLab - The HHL Accelerator supports innovative founding projects with the implementation and growth of their ventures. In addition to intensive coaching, the founding teams will also benefit from a high-caliber mentoring program as well as numerous contacts to investors, established companies and other founders. They can use a co-working office with state-of-the art equipment on the premises of Spinnerei, an old cotton mill now serving as a center for creativity, and will gain access to var ious technologies offered by partners. Even after completing the program, the startup teams are supported in their recruiting efforts, they can plan their expansion through an international exchange program and they get the opportunity to rent office space next to SpinLab, The founders will be able to use all offers free of charge when they are accepted for the six-month program. The accelerator is funded through contributions from investors and established companies such as Deutsche Postbank, Porsche, CMS Hasche Sigle, Deutsche Bank, Doberman Ventures, DZ Bank, ergo Versicherungen, Grazia Equity, Heinz Dürr Invest, High-Tech Gründerfonds, KPMG, Madsack Mediengruppe, Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Sachsen, Quarton International, the City of Leipzig taskforce - Management on Demand and Technologiegründerfonds Sachsen. HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management as a hotbed for entrepreneurs

With over 165 start-ups established by HHL alumni over the past 18 years, Germany's top address for young managers has also developed into an incubator for company creation he founders' entrepreneurial commitment has created more than 2,800 jobs already.
